Meet the Doctors
Dr. Kimberly Liotta Perales, D.C.
Dr. Kimberly Liotta, DC grew up in San Ramon and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis. She then attended Life Chiropractic College West in Hayward. Upon graduation, Dr. Liotta went on a Chiropractic mission trip to Cambodia where she treated people in the local schools, orphanages and villages and she has now been practicing locally for 5 years. Dr. Liotta treats patients of all ages from 10 days, her youngest so far, to 85 years and beyond. She has experience with all types of musculoskeletal conditions including: plantar fasciitis, sciatica, scoliosis, arthritis, tendonitis, headaches and generalized pain due to chronic injuries or fibromyalgia.
In July of 2012 Dr. Liotta found out that she had severe burns in her esophagus from erosive heart burn. Not wanting to undergo surgery later in life, and not wanting throat cancer (a real possibility if she did not get her condition under control), she decided it was time to make a change. She began her quest for a healthier lifestyle. She read many articles on her condition and changed her eating habits drastically in order to reduce the inflammation and calm her heartburn. Doing so resulted in drastic reductions of her burns (no longer cancerous) and a 30-pound weight loss in 3 months!
When Dr. Liotta joined this office and learned of Ideal Protein, she was excited to share her experience and help people achieve their own personal goals. So, whether you are looking to lose weight, or simply live a healthier lifestyle, Dr. Liotta is here to see what the best plan is for you!
Dr. Edward Espinoza DC, MS
Eddie was born and raised in Castro Valley, California. He attended Valley Christian High School in Dublin and chose to pursue the path of chiropractic medicine after seeing first hand how his mother benefited tremendously from her treatments of low back pain. Eventually, he took his studies to California State University Chico where he studied Small Business Management, with his chiropractic dream still in mind.
Eddie then attended the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon and earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic in December 2016. While at Western States, he also earned a Master's Degree in Sports Medicine. This allowed much more hands-on experience with on-field injuries, rehabilitation, and sports-related injuries. In addition, he was an active member of Portland Toastmaster's Club and attended two chiropractic service trips to Haiti during his studies. Eddie took it upon himself to attend as many extracurricular seminars as he could to learn additional treatments and techniques while in school, including but not limited to the McKenzie method, instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation, and various styles of manual joint manipulation.
Eddie's goal in patient care include reducing pain as quickly as possible to regain activity and movement. Movement is life. Every system in the human body depends on movement to stay healthy, whether you are talking about the heart, muscles/joints, and even digestion. Movement directly correlates with one's quality of life. Furthermore, he takes pride in staying up to date on being an evidence-based clinician and remaining current on manual therapy research.
Traveling and live music is two of Eddie's biggest passions. He also enjoys snowboarding, bouldering, staying active in the gym and watching Bay Area sports. Although he had a blast living in the Pacific Northwest during his studies, he is very excited to be back home in the San Francisco East Bay.
